This
Hydroelectric Power Station is the oldest and was built on 1905. It
comprises two Francis turbines with horizontal axis, its volume of design
is of 7,6 m3/s, with an installed power of 1,47 MW, at the
moment is on stand by as the Mini Power Station of Charcani I is operating.
The net fall of this power station is
26,85 m and it is located at 2 527,17 m.a.s.l. It has two generators
made
by Siemens Schuckert Werk, with a nominal power of 1000 and 472 kW
respectively, for a nominal tension of 5250 V. Both generators operate
with a power factor of 0,8 and rotation speed of 600 rpm.
In addition, there are factories, lodges,
a parish and a sports field.
CHARCANI II
This
Power Station was built in 1912, has 3 groups of turbines J.M. VOITH,
Francis type with horizontal axis of double discharge each one, its
volume of total design is 6 m3, with an installed power of
0,79 MW. The net fall is 18,70 m.
This Power Station directly gets the water
from the turbines discharge of the Hydro Power Station Charcani I and
goes through a similar process to take the sand off similar to the previous
power station.
CHARCANI III
This
Hydro Power Station is from 1938. It comprises two double francis turbines
of horizontal axis, one J.M. VOITH and the other ESCHER WYSS, their
speed of rotation is 620 rpm.
The total design volume is 10
m3/s, with an installed power of 4,56 MW. The net fall of this power
station is 57,50 m. In 1998, this station was upgraded with two asynchronous
ABB generators, with nominal powers of 2 240 and 2 320 kW respectively
for a nominal tension of 5250 V. The supervision is through the Control
Center in Chilina.
The energy produced by the Power
Stations Charcani I, II and III is transmitted to a 5.25 kV bar in Charcani
I, then elevated to a 33 kV by a power transformer of 11,5 MVA, to be
transmitted to the substation of Chilina, that is connected to the National
Interconnected System.
CHARCANI IV
This
Power Station was installed between 1959 and 1970. It has three groups
of Francis turbines of horizontal axis made by CHARMILLES and has an
installed power of 14 400 kW,
with a nominal volume of 15 m3/s. The net fall of this power station
is 117,35 m.
In 1993 this power station was upgraded
with three generators BBC, with a nominal power of 4800 kW each one,
for a nominal tension of 5250 + 5% V, a power factor of 0,8 and a speed
of 720 rpm.
Each generator is connected by a transformer
elevated to a 33 kV bar, from which two lines of communication of 33
kV transport the energy produced, sending it to the bar connected to
the SINAC in Chilina.
CHARCANI V
This
Power station was installed in 1989 and it is one of most modern stations
in EGASA’s Hydraulic System. It has three Pelton groups of turbines
of vertical axis made by NEYRPIC and for each group has an installed
power of 51290 kW.
The design volume of this power station
is 24,9 m3/s and its net fall is 706,4 m.
It has three generators Alsthom Atlantic,
type RYV 366,153 with a power of 57 000 KVA each one, for a nominal
tension of 13 800 V which operate with a factor of 0,85 power. The energy
is transferred to the substation Santuario that is connected to the
SINAC.
CHARCANI VI
This
hydroelectric power station was conditioned in 1976. It has a francis
turbine of horizontal axis mark, its design volume is 15 m3/s, with
an installed power of 8,96 MW. The net fall of this power station is
69 m.
The generator of this power station
is made by BBC, with a nominal power of 8960 kW, for a nominal tension
of 5250 V and operates with a power factor of 0,8 and speed of rotation
of 514 rpm. The design frequency is 60 Hertz.
This power station was modernized in 1995,
changing its speed governors to electronic systems. It’s connected
to a bar of 33 kV from which a transmission line of 33 kV transports
the produced energy, transferring it to the Chilina bar of 33 kV connected
to the SINAC.
